Cisternograms in the primate Macaca mulatta.

چکیده
Normal imaging of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow in the primate Macaca mulatta 99m using Tc labeled human serum albumin shows flow from the basal cisterns over the cerebral cortex in 4 hours. Anatomical correlation of basal cisterns with cisternographic images was demonstrated with latex casts of the normal CSF spaces. Cisternographic images from nonhuman primates with experimental communicating hydrocephalus have entry of radiopharmaceutical into the lateral ventricles and are presented for comparison. Cisternography is a useful technique for evaluating such primate disease models, since normal and pathologic images parallel those obtained in man.

Diagnosis and surgical management of an intraocular foreign body secondary to ballistic wound in a Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta)
Background: Intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs) such as air gun pellet is a rare finding in wild animals like Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta). The purpose of the present scientific report is to describe the surgical retrieval of IOFB secondary to ballistic wound in a wild Rhesus macaque. Case description: A juvenile female wild Rhesus macaque was brought with the history of swollen and inflamed ...

The rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) is an abundant primate species that diverged from the ancestors of Homo sapiens about 25 million years ago. Because they are genetically and physiologically similar to humans, rhesus monkeys are the most widely used nonhuman primate in basic and applied biomedical research. We determined the genome sequence of an Indian-origin Macaca mulatta female and compar...
